ELD- Behind the Scene

While there is a lot of talk about how the drivers are going to be affected by the Electronic Logging Device (ELD) Mandate, there has not been much about how this mandate is going to affect the back office.  We will look at what office personnel need to know and can expect once the ELDs are implemented.  Specifically, what will be your responsibility when it comes to log auditing and what you need to know about being audited by the DOT.  While audits of all kinds will become less time consuming, they will not be unnecessary.  The good news is you will have more time to focus on your safety program and less time to audit logs, the bad news is the DOT auditor will also have more time to focus on things they haven’t had time for in the past.
